Where the 18+ password comes from
On a MAG box the channel list is not stored in an app. It is served by the provider’s portal, and that portal also keeps the parental-control password guarding the adult category. Accounts start with a default chosen on the portal side, very often 0000.
In other words, the provider sets the first code and you are expected to replace it. On most portals the new code is saved to your account rather than the box alone. The category is only for adults aged 18 or older, which is exactly why it stays behind that password.
Changing the parental password step by step
- Open Settings inside the portal menu (not the box’s system settings).
- Select Parental or Parental control.
- Type the current password, then enter and confirm a new one.
- Return to live TV and open the 18+ group: the box now asks for your new code.
If you forget it, contact support and ask for a reset on your portal account. Codes posted on forums belong to other people’s lines and will not open yours.
